The Festival

From Victorian surgery demonstrations at the world’s oldest surviving operating theatre to medical stand-up and anatomical drawing classes, the bi-annual Medi-Culture Festival offers an exciting line-up of live events, talks, walks, workshops, stories and stand-up.

The Vision

Our ambition is to become the world’s most significant medi-culture district. This means celebrating over 1,000 years of life-changing work in health, science, and wellbeing, and continuing to build on that legacy for the future.

For centuries, the area south of London Bridge has played a leading role in medical and scientific progress. That story is still unfolding. With major redevelopment planned across the London Bridge Campus Biomedical Cluster over the next 25 years, and several key projects already in motion along St Thomas Street, the area is entering a new phase.

Our focus is on working closely with the local community to create a shared vision grounded in real experiences and ideas. We're opening up conversations around health, culture, and how they shape everyday life.

We’re also planning future festivals and events that connect the public with science, medicine and culture in creative, engaging ways.
