What is the impact of receiving a diagnosis? How do medical labels shape the way we feel about our bodies and what happens if we disagree with the language we are given?
In this participatory workshop, writer and researcher Dr. Ngozi Oparah invites you to reframe the stories we inherit and create more expansive definitions for ourselves.
Through prompts, group reflection and optional sharing, you will be supported to choose a word or label, redefine it based on your lived experience and give it depth through new stories. Together, participants will build a collective dictionary of alternative meanings that highlight strength, joy and individuality.
This workshop offers a supportive and exploratory space where storytellers of all kinds can experiment, create and honour their truth. No prior storytelling experience is necessary, only curiosity and care for yourself as you take part.
