John Hegley: Biscuit of Destiny Poetry Workshop

  • Guy's Chapel SE1 1UL (map)

Join us for a special poetry workshop on Keats's Birthday with the fabulous John Hegley, one of the one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name.

The workshop involves the making and decorating with words and colours, the paper 'poissons d'Avril' popular in France, for sticking on the backs of the unsuspecting. There will be some writing about the differences between things and drawings of biscuits - all accompanied by manipulations on mandolin.

Anyone 8 years old and upwards would be suited to these activities with some intellectual stretching for those in the upward end of upwards.

Biscuit of Destiny, Live Performance: Join John for a live performance of the Biscuit of Destiny show at 7.30PM. Across a 90-minute performance, John introduces a clutch of new verses, a few older favourites and a cardboard camel with a moving jaw.

Tickets can be booked separately here.
