Walk: The Dark Side of Southwark

  • Guy's Courtyard London, England, SE1 9RS United Kingdom (map)

Join us as we guide you through the dark side of Southwark.

The walk aims to introduce people to the shadiest and darker side of Southwark by looking at the more nefarious happenings that took place around Old St Thomas’ Hospital from the 16th to the early 20th century. We shall highlight these darker stories around the themes of bodysnatching, murder, executions, alcohol, etc. The walk is aimed to be educational and even though the topics will be treated with the upmost respect, some of these stories might be triggering for some people. The past can be a very upsetting place to visit, but it can teach us many things.

Meeting point: Guy's Courtyard, next to the statue of Thomas Guy.
